Onwards to new adventures

After a swelteringly hot and perhaps somewhat stressful final week in Bagamoyo, on the Indian coast of Tanzania, the 2015 cohort of the CFSIA were released back into the wild on Monday morning (March 23rd). While some began the journey home, many instead boarded the ferry to the legendary spice island of Zanzibar, a couple  of hours offshore. There, in an undisclosed location on the east coast of the island, they have been celebrating their hard-earned freedom, and kicking back with some serious relaxation.

The tear-jerking moment as the students all rolled away, on their bus journey towards freedom.

While the official program may have come to a close, for many there are mountains beyond this one, and sometimes literally, too. Indeed, a sizeable group will measure themselves to Mt. Kilimanjaro next week, and their story will be published here, in due time. Others intend to travel around Africa and/or Europe before heading home, while some have exciting internships awaiting them back in Kenya.

It is our sincere hope that you, parents and friends, have enjoyed following our group online during this grand adventure. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to have been with them throughout.

Best,

CFSIA 2015 Staff
